Gemotions

The coffee tasted particularly good this morning, maybe because it was the last cup he’d make in this office. Mark hummed a tuneless song, his shoulders relaxed as he surveyed his desk, everything meticulously organized. He even had a small vase with a single, perfect sunflower in it, a gift from his wife. He spun in his chair, facing the door.

A nervous young man, Michael, came in, looking overwhelmed. Mark gave him a welcoming smile.

"Come in, come in!" He gestured towards a box of donuts on the side table. "Grab a bite. We’ve got a lot to cover, but don’t worry, it's pretty straightforward stuff."

Mark's internal clock was ready. The move was planned. Today, just the handover. Tomorrow, the beach.
